Sabers Narrowly Defeat Milford Spartans

Chris Chininis scored the game winning run in a close match on Monday.

The Souhegan High School baseball team came from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Milford Spartans 4 to 3 and up the teams record to 2 wins and 2 loss.

Senior, righty Terry Dugdale scattered five hits, struck out eight and walked win to pick up the complete game victory.

The Souhegan defense was led by the play of the outfield ... Chris Chininis and Robby McCormick each made a number of catches in the outfield and Eric Howard threw a strike from left field to catcher Cameron Crook (who was protecting home plate) who tagged the Spartans run OUT at the plate to end the fourth inning.

Tim Beliveau had a BIG day at the plate as he hit a solo home run to lead off the Souhegan third inning to give the Sabers a 1-0 lead.

In the 6th, trailing 3-1 Robert Graham led the inning off with a double and, with two outs, scored on a Seth Learned rbi single.   Down, 3-2 in the bottom of the 7th, Tim Beliveau hit his second solo home run to tie the game at 3-3.  The two home runs in one game is the first time in school history.

Tied at 3-3, Eric Howard walked and Tyler Hansis pinch ran for Eric Howard,  Chris Chininis was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second no outs.  Tyler Ford field choice was the first out of the inning. Bobby Graham then laced a doubled down the left field line to plate Chris Chininis with the game winning run.
