Do you want to make a difference in the world for the better? Well, you can. As Tom McElroy, explains, “Christian Science is universal, for everybody. It’s not about a personal philosophy, denomination, self-help system, or even an alternative form of medicine. It’s about understanding the teachings, the life and the example of Christ Jesus. It’s the Science of Christ – the Science of Life - of who we are, and what God is, and what that means for us here today, and for how we problem solve. Jesus helped all kinds of people, and forever changed the world. He also called himself the way, the truth and the life, and he asked those that followed him to do the same kind of works that he had done. His students did that, went out and helped people and made a difference in the world, and we can do the same.”

“At a time when more people than ever are working to make a difference for the better in the world, genuine spirituality has a valuable and unique contribution to make,” says McElroy. “It’s not about joining a club, or blind faith, but the understanding of universal Truth and Love, God, that embraces everyone, and brings to light reliable healing solutions even where it might seem like there are none.”

McElroy’s ideas are based on the teachings of Jesus, as recorded in the Bible, and as discussed in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. After graduating from college he worked in real estate finance, and at the same time, volunteered as a prison Chaplain where he worked with inmates in men’s, women’s, and youth facilities. Now as a Christian Science practitioner, he prays with people from all over the world in order to help others find spiritually based solutions to challenges ranging from health and finance issues to relationship difficulties.
McElroy is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. He lives in the Boston area. His talk is sponsored by First Church of Christ Scientist in Milford NH.
