Step 1 to Starting Your Business Workshop Held Feb. 4

Free one-hour event is being hosted by the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce.

AMHERST, NH - Thinking of starting a business but not sure how to start? The Step 1 to Starting Your Business Workshop, a free, one-hour event, will get you started.

Business attorney Jason Bielagus of Bielagus Law Offices, according to a press statement, will lead you through the necessary paperwork to file with the State of New Hampshire, answer your questions about incorporating and other legal issues. Learn the differences between forming a general partnership, a limited partnership, an LLC and a corporation. Jason will discuss the pros and cons to each as well as “piercing the corporate veil,” and how to avoid it.

Martin Ferreira, accountant with IRS Tax Resolution Services in Bedford will discuss the differences between S-Corps and C-Corps, and the tax consequences of partnerships, LLCs, S-Corps, and C-Corps.

The necessary forms to register a new business will be available at the workshop. The event will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce office, 69 Route 101A in Amherst.
