Titanic Bandleader's Letter Sold For HOW MUCH?

A letter from the bandleader who played on as the Titanic sank has sold at auction for nearly $155,000, according to Foster's Daily Democrat.

Wallace Hartley, the ship's bandleader who chose to play on as it fell into the sea. He wrote home to his parents in England that the Titanic was a great ship and that his fellow musicians were very nice.

The letter was mailed during one of two stops the Titanic made before it struck an iceberg 350 miles south of Newfoundland and sank April 15, 1912, leaving 1,517 dead.
