Trump in Amherst on Thursday

Potential Republican first-in-the-nation primary candidate kicks off House Majority Caucus presidential contender series.

The House Republican Majority Caucus announced on March 18, that it is sponsoring a series of events during the next several months with potential Republican candidates for president.

The first event will held at the home of state Rep. Stephen Stepanek, R-Amherst, featuring business mogul Donald Trump, on Thursday, March 19.

According to Stepanek, “Reaching the base of our activists is critical for any presidential candidate. These events will bring our conservative activist base to the candidates in an open, candid forum.”

The organization is attempting to firm up future dates with U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, Gov. Scott Walker, and Dr. Ben Carson, just to name a few.

“The purpose behind the series is to give the Republican Conservative presidential candidates the exposure they deserve in New Hampshire,” said former House Speaker state Rep. William O’Brien, R-Mont Vernon. “These forums will provide the important connection our Conservative candidates and primary voters need.”
