VIDEO: Souhegan Graduates Told To 'Find Your Rubber Chicken'
Clips from the speeches made at Souhegan High School's twentieth graduation ceremony on Friday.
The 20th group of graduating seniors at Souhegan High were given inspiring words from faculty and fellow students as they began the next step in their lives.
"Take the time to enjoy the moments and people that are a part of your journey," said Salutatorian Robert McCormick at Friday's commencement ceremony.
Souhegan principal Jon Ingram told of his youngest son's rubber chicken, which he unashamedly carries around like a teddy bear or blanket. He told students to do the same with their dreams, no matter what anybody else thinks.

"Do what makes you happy and follow your passion." said Ingram. "Find your rubber chicken and hold onto it. It’s what you want."
Faculty speaker Dick Miller quoted Yogi Berra in his speech to seniors. "When you come to a fork in the road, take it," he advised.

He gave student's his 'Miller's Principles' for life, which including treating people how you want to be treated, smiling, saying thank you and telling the people that matter that you love them.
Valedictorian Raleigh McElvery told her fellow students that "not all aspects of your life is in control, and that is the most exciting part."
Superintendent Peter Warburton told the graduating seniors that he was proud to have been their superintendent and has already felt a strong connection with this school.
"You are all good to go," said Warburton. "You have certainly made your mark, and we will certainly remember you."
