VIDEO: Parade Attracts GOP Candidates

Residents share mixed reactions but majority say they like seeing campaigns as part of Fourth of July festivities.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman made appearances at Amherst's Fourth of July parade, with supporters of Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty and Rick Santorum also showing up to march.

Romney and Huntsman drew a flurry of attention from the media, as well as from voters hoping to catch a handshake or photo of the two presidential candidates.

Attendees of the parade had mixed reactions about politics playing a role in their small-town parade. While a couple of people declined to share their thoughts on camera, they said they didn't believe politics should play a part in a small local parade. Others said they feel it's an important part of the political landscape here in New Hampshire.
