Weather Alert: Gusty Winds, Hail for NH

While it may be sunny and blue skies outside right now, hazardous weather is heading to the Granite State ... as well as snow for next week?

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the afternoon of March 17, 2016, for nearly the entire state of New Hampshire, including Merrimack, Hillsborough, and Rockingham counties.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit the region this afternoon and run through this evening. These storms may produce “gusty winds and small hail,” according to the NWS, mainly over southern and central areas of the state.

After this storm moves out of the region, there is the potential for an offshore system to bring accumulating snow to the area on Sunday night and Monday morning.

“There remains a lot of uncertainty regarding the track of (the) developing storm,” according to the alert. “You should monitor later statements and forecasts from the National Weather Service regarding the potential impacts from this storm system.”

Patch will have a full weekend weather forecast later today.
