4,800 NH Scholars Graduate on June 3

High-schoolers from 74 institutions reach their academic goals in 2015.

Just as New Hampshire’s own Robert Frost described in his famed poem, a special group of graduating high school seniors chose “the road not taken”, and that path has led them to academic success. Thousands of NH Scholars graduates will gather in Manchester to celebrate academic achievement as 2015 NH Scholars.

On June 3, at 10:30 a.m., students and their families will pack Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester to celebrate this important academic milestone, according to a press statement.

The program, now in its ninth year, has enjoyed steady growth, in both the number of schools participating and the number of graduates. All but a small handful of New Hampshire high schools participate in NH Scholars, and since its inception, every NH Scholar who applied for college has been accepted.

NH Scholars urges students to pursue the more challenging classes and a broad course load with focus on physics, foreign languages, math and engineering. By completing these courses, students are better positioned to be accepted in the college of their choice and pursue their career dreams.

“Nearly 100% of these New Hampshire Scholars graduates head straight to college,” says Scott Power, director of NH Scholars. “Due to their dedication and hard work and devotion, a college degree is within reach. We could not be more proud of these young men and women.”

The founding organization for New Hampshire Scholars is the New Hampshire College & University Council (NHCUC), a consortium of public and private colleges and universities in the state of New Hampshire. “New Hampshire’s success relies on the hard work of our future generation,” says Tom Horgan, President and CEO of NHCUC. “These young people are proof that if you set high expectations, and provide the tools needed to reach them, anything is possible. I am honored to be a part of recognizing the New Hampshire Scholars Class of 2015.”
