1. Bedford School Board member honored by state. On Saturday, June 2, former teacher and current Bedford School Board member Cindy Chagnon was presented the Doris Barnes Retired Educator Lifetime Achievement Award at the NH Excellence in Education Award ("ED"ies) Ceremony. According to a post on the Bedford School District website, the accolade was: created to honor a retired teacher or teachers who have continued to work with youth and the betterment of public education after his/her retirement, as has the person for whom it is named. Chagnon was recently was appointed to the NH State Board of Education.

4. The weatherman says ... more of the same. Like yesterday, today's forecast looks to be filled with overcast skies and occasional rain showers. The chance of precipitation drops from 50 percent to 40, however, and the forecaseted high temperature is 61 degrees.
5. Playoff Payoff? The Bedford High School boys lacrosse team, which fell in the state championship two years ago and the semifinals last year, defeated fourth-ranked Portsmouth, 13-10, in Sunday's Division II final four matchup to reach the state's title tilt. The top-seeded Bulldogs are scheduled to face No. 3 St. Thomas Aquinas for the D-II crown today, at 7 p.m., at Exeter High School.
