A Brief Histroy of American Folk Music with Paul & Peggo Hodes
This event has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Covenant Church, 1 Covenant Way, Bedford, NH.
This event will explore the deep roots of American folk music, with a focus on songs of peace and justice. With Peggo's sparkling vocals and Paul's guitar stylings, their program spans the history of the folk tradition. Presented in concert form, Peggo & Paul will play and discuss a variety of songs, from "Yankee Doodle" to "This Land is Your Land" to "Blowin in the Wind," from original tunes to songs by contemporary folk artists. Audiences have been enthralled by their performances of songs capturing the vibrant American experience. They've played diverse venues from the White House and Boston's Hatch Shell to flatbeds at country fairs. In their spare time, Paul has been a U.S. Congressman for the 2nd District and Peggo conducts the Songweavers at the Concord Community Music School.
In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of OLLI at GSC, this event on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Bethany Covenant Church is free and open to the public ... donations graciously accepted. The event is being co-sponsored by OLLI and the Silver Liners of Bethany Covenant Church. The Silver Liners is a group for people 65 or older who meet monthly for fellowship, a focus on faith and social activities.
