Aitken: Circle Drive Proposal Does Not Comply With Current Zoning

Zoning laws past and present do not allow for the amount of units being proposed by developers

The Bedford Planning Board will meet on Monday, February 24, 2020, 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM @ Town Meeting Room – BCTV.

According to the posted agenda, Circle Drive Associates, LLC c/o Robert F. Smith, Sr. (Owner) – will request a design review of a site plan for a proposed "multi-family development to include 144 condominiums in two four-story buildings and 96 independent elderly condominiums (age 55+) in one four-story building with land reserved for future commercial development on South River Road and Autumn Lane, Lots 35-98-5 and 35-98-40, Zoned PZ (Continued from November 18, 2019)."

We continue to be surprised that developers would even consider the attempt to present plans such as this which do not comply with past or present zoning laws for that area.

There are currently three such developments being proposed. If approved (via waiver), this could mean the sudden influx of 600 new units.

It is important to be there to express your opposition to this development and to instruct the planning board that the residents' vote means something and that they should not grant waivers to override them.
