Aitken: Sebbins Project Violates Zoning Regs
Founder of Bedford Residents Association taxpayer group asks why planning board ignored regulations

The Bedford Planning Board has flown in the face of the voters.
It is about time they listened.
Their statement that they granted waivers to allow the Sebbins Project (200 units) because 'no one cared' is stunningly outrageous in the face of all that has happened in the past two years.

Do they not remember that 1,300 people signed petitions against the over-building of apartment complexes in Bedford, including the bait and switch ploy of Market and Main?
Many more would have signed if they hadn't feared retribution.

In March of 2019, voters confirmed the sentiment expressed in the petition by cementing zoning regulations that do not allow projects like Sebbins in that area. They also passed amendments that allowed only 12 units per building as well as a setback requirement.
Both these regulations were ignored.
