Alleged Squatter Found In Office Building: Cops

Jefferson Kimball, a homeless man, was found in the basement of Hampshire Plaza this week.

MANCHESTER, NH — A call at a local business led police to file a burglary charge against a homeless man, according to a press statement. Jefferson Kimball, 25, with no fixed address, was arrested on Feb. 6, 2018, and charged with burglary and felon in possession of a deadly weapon. Police were sent to Hampshire Plaza at 1000 Elm Street at just after 7:30 a.m. for a call.

“The officer determined Kimball illegally entered the property the previous night,” Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department alleged. “He located a sleeping bag, candles, and other items indicating he was ‘squatting’ inside the basement of the office building when located yesterday morning.”

Kimball was arrested, processed, and released on personal recognizance bail. He’s due in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on Feb. 22.
