Girl Scout Vanessa Abbott earns Service to Girl Scouting Bar (cabinet.com) — Bedford readers can celebrate a local connection to Girl Scout achievement as Gold Award Girl Scout Vanessa Abbott is recognized in Bedford News for earning the Service to Girl Scouting Bar. Though she lives in Ayer, Massachusetts, she’s active with a Nashua troop and recently spent 20 hours organizing historic artifacts for the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains council.
3. FedPoint Awards 2026 Nursing Scholarships to Future RNs (patch.com) — A Bedford resident, Peyton Kopp, has been awarded a $5,000 FedPoint Nursing Scholarship to support her transition from licensed nursing assistant to registered nurse. Working in Elliot Hospital’s cardiac ICU in Manchester, she was one of four recipients selected from more than 350 applicants across New England, reflecting growing interest in nursing careers and expanded scholarship eligibility.
4. High schools: Dine leads Merrimack boys lax; Grizzlies' Hazelbaker hurls gem (unionleader.com) — Bedford High’s baseball team rolled past Alvirne 12-2 in six innings, powered by a grand slam from Zack Papik and a three-run homer from Henry DuBois. Pitcher Sam Doemling earned his first varsity win with six strong innings, while several Bulldogs chipped in multi-hit games.
