PORTSMOUTH, NH – Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains received a donation from Newburyport Bank thanks to the bank staff’s annual giving campaign. The donation was presented on June 30 at Camp Seawood in Portsmouth, one of the council’s two day camp properties in New Hampshire.

Staff from Newburyport Bank based in Portsmouth met at Camp Seawood. Kelli Brown, the council’s director of fund development, and Sam Hebert, camp property manager, gave a tour of Camp Seawood. It was a nostalgic tour for Lisa Wolstencroft, one of the bank’s managers, who attended Camp Seawood as a young girl.

“Coming back to Camp Seawood after so many years has been a wonderful journey down memory lane,” said Wolstencroft. “The friendships, adventures, and lessons I experienced here as a young Girl Scout have stayed with me throughout the years. Thank you for preserving such a special place, where new generations can create their own lasting memories and experience the same sense of connection, growth, and adventure.”

Newburyport Bank is excited to partner with Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains for future funding and volunteer opportunities.

“Newburyport Bank is proud to support Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains Camp Seawood in Portsmouth, NH, through funding from our Summer Outreach Program,” said Amanda Frohn, treasury management specialist for the bank. “Camp Seawood provides girls with meaningful opportunities to develop confidence, leadership skills, teamwork, and lifelong friendships in a safe and supportive environment. We are honored to invest in programs that empower local youth, strengthen our communities, and create lasting positive impacts for future generations.”

Girl Scouts are already enjoying the summer camp experience at Camp Seawood. The council is grateful for Newburyport Bank’s support.

We are Girl Scouts of the USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character.

Girl Scouts discover who they are, tap into the power inside them, and build the confidence to let it shine. Through programs from coast to coast and overseas, girls of all backgrounds and abilities come as they are to explore their passions, meet new challenges, and develop hands-on skills. They find their strengths in science labs and on hiking trails, at cookie booths and in front of city councils. Backed by millions of alums and a network of dedicated adult volunteers and mentors, Girl Scouts drive change to make the world a better place. Along the way, they uncover the tools they need to lead with joy, on their own terms. Join us, volunteer, reconnect, or donate.

Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains serves girls throughout New Hampshire and Vermont through volunteer-run troops, events, and virtual programs. Visit www.girlscoutsgwm.org to learn more.
