Crews went to the Moore's Crossing entrance to the trail and met the caller about .75 miles into the trail. They set up a rope system and worked their way down to the body.

Officers immediately determined the person was deceased, and Marine Patrol and NH Fish and Game were notified.

Marine Patrol arrived at the scene, as well as the Medical Examiner. The body was brought up the embankment by Bedford Firefighters and removed from the scene by a local funeral home. The body was brought to the Office of the NH Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed and confirm the identity of the person.

It appears the body is an adult male who has been deceased for an extended period of time. No name or age has been released at this time.

NH State Police Marine Patrol is expected to issue a press release; Bedford Patch will provide updates if new information is released.
