Patch: What attracted you to politics, and how did you get started?
Peter Kujawski: I was a career military officer retiring as a US Army Colonel after 30 years of service. That life of service never leaves you. I want to continue my life of service preserving and growing the NH Advantage in the House of Representatives for Bedford and for my State of NH.
Patch: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your campaign?
Peter Kujawski: People like people who have served. People honestly recognize that our state is surrounded by CRAZY. They honestly want NH to remain the last bastion of normalcy in the Northeast. I have lived in MA, CA, MD and CT. Each of these states have enacted oppressive income, business and death taxes resulting their population and businesses to flee to lower tax states. Their state governments are bloated, their education systems are failing, and their quality of life has continued to decline. Many have told me they have left these states and come to NH for the same reason. NH's economy and quality of life are in the top of all the states in the US. This year, the opposing party has already proposed a 3% income and 3% sales tax. When CT did the same, I got wise and moved to NH many years ago. I love NH and I want to keep improving the NH way of life.
Patch: How long have you lived in Bedford?
Peter Kujawski: 30 years.
Patch: Tell us about your career and service in Bedford
Peter Kujawski: I have been a Little League Coach, Babe Ruth League Coach, Pop Warner Football Board Director for six years. Member of the Knight of Columbus Council 12988 for 25 years. Knight of the Year for Leadership this past year and current Grand Knight at the same Council.
Patch: What are some ways you give back to the community?
Peter Kujawski: At the Knights we are very active in the community: we raise money for children with disabilities, we raise money for the NH Food Bank to help people with food insecurity; we sponsor sporting events for children, we assist with church and community events such providing Lent Fish Fry meals. I was in the military for 30 years some of the specific events I was involved in are on my website.
Patch: If you were to be elected, what would some of your top priorities/policies/changes be?
Peter Kujawski: My priorities include the following:
Patch: What distinguishes you from other candidates?
Peter Kujawski: I am a degreed engineer that knows how to solve problems, I have deep experience in running businesses big and small. I know how to balance a budget and make a payroll. I am also a decorated Army officer who has demonstrated that I can get things done.
Patch: What's the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you've faced during this election?
Peter Kujawski: In the last election I lost by a mere 51 votes. My challenge has been to physically knock on that many more doors and meet many more people face to face to ensure that they know the quality of my character and will be motivated to vote for me in November.
Patch: What's the most satisfying part about running in this election?
Peter Kujawski: Talking to people about what concerns them most.
