Yesterday, Bedford Patch published a list of upcoming elected position openings for the town and school district.

Today, we offer those board and commission positions to which Bedford residents may apply to be appointed in March.

All the following are three-year positions, unless otherwise noted:

  • The Planning Board has openings for two regular members and two alternates. One of the alternate positions is for a one-year term. 

Meet twice a month - on the first and third Monday - to consider site plans, subdivisions, home occupations, change-of-use applications, and to do overall planning for the town.

  • The Board of Adjustment has openings for one regular member and one alternate member.

Meet on the third Tuesday of each month to consider appeals from the Zoning Ordinance or from an administrative ruling.

  • The Historic District Commission has openings for one regular member and three alternate members. One of the alternate positions is for a one-year term and one is for a two-year term.

Meet on the first Tuesday of each month to review new construction, exterior renovations or major landscaping projects within the Historic District.

  • The Parks & Recreation Commission has openings for two regular members and one alternate member.

Meet quarterly to review parks and recreation matters.

  • The Conservation Commission has openings for three regular members and one alternate member.

Meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month to review dredge and fill
applications and other wetland issues.

  • The Bedford Community Television (BCTV) Board has an opening for one one member.

Meet quarterly to review operations of the TV station.

  • The Highway Safety Committee has an opening for one regular member and one alternate member.

Meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

  • The Water & Sewer Advisory Committee has an opening for one member.

Meet on the second Friday of each month.

  • The Bedford Village Common Development Committee (BVCDC) has openings for two members.

Meet on the first Friday of each month.

  • The Energy Commission has openings for four regular members and three alternate members. The regular positions are: two three-year terms; one one two-year term; and one one-year term. The alternate positions are: one three-year term; one two-year term; and one one-year term.

Meet on the fourth Monday of each month.

  • There is one open position for a Cemetery Trustee. This position is for a three-year term.
  • The position of Town Treasurer is open. This position is for a one-year term.
  • The position of Assistant Town Treasurer is open. This position is for a one-year term.
  • The position of Tax Collector is open. This position is for a one-year term.
