Armed Robbery Reported at Family Dollar Store

Police are reporting that the West Hancock Street location on Manchester's West Side was hit at just before 7 p.m.

MANCHESTER, NH — Police in the Queen City are asking for the public’s help after the Family Dollar store on West Hancock Street in Manchester was reportedly robbed tonight, according to a press alert. Cops were called to the store at 6:51 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2017, for a report of an armed robbery.

“The investigation revealed that an unknown masked suspect entered the store armed with a pistol and handed the clerk a note demanding cash,” according to Lt. Joseph Mucci of the Manchester Police Department. “The suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction of travel.”

A K-9 track was attempted but was later terminated, Mucci noted.

The suspect is described as a white male with a “lanky” build, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a dark scarf covering his face, a dark hooded sweatshirt, and tan pants.
