Ballot Voting in Bedford: Debate, Deliberation, and a Ballot

Vote YES on Article 2, March 12th

Did you know that if Bedford passes Article 2 on March 12th, we the taxpayers will still be able to actively participate in the town budgeting process?

Moving to official ballot voting simply means that instead of debating, deliberating, AND voting all in one brief session the evening after we vote on all other town issues via ballot, voters will now have the opportunity to attend both a public hearing to ask detailed questions about the proposed budget AND a deliberative session where registered voters can propose changes, debate, and deliberate, just as currently occurs at the Town Budgetary meeting.

Voting “YES” on Article 2 will offer Bedford voters the best of both a traditional town meeting style of voter participation, which encourages and includes both debate and deliberation by the voters in attendance while also giving the broader community an opportunity to weigh in on the final proposed budget via ballot voting.
