Bedford Community Center Received $7,500 Grant

The Bedford Historical Society is pleased to announce The Stevens-Buswell Community Center received a grant from the Barker Foundation Inc.

The Friends of the Stevens-Buswell Community Center (a subcommittee of the Bedford Historical Society) is pleased to announce we recently received a grant from The Barker Foundation Inc. in the amount of $7,500, slated towards creating an accessible restroom on the first floor of the building of the community center. The Stevens-Buswell Community Center is an on-going project to rehabilitate an early 20th century school building as a community center for the Bedford residents of all ages, from newborns to senior citizens. Located in Bedford's historic center at 18 N. Amherst Road (next door to the town offices), this building already has a long history of community service. It served not only as a school, it also was the home of the Bedford Town Offices and Police Department, and later as the Marconi Museum. To date no tax dollars have been used; we rely on private donations, grants and fundraising events. To help support this great project you can make a donation online, bedfordhistoricalnh.org or mail it to the Bedford Historical Society, 24 N. Amherst Road, Bedford, NH 03110. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact us via the Bedford Historical Society (471-6336) or email us directly at sbcc@bedfordhistoricalnh.org.
