Bedford is on the ground helping in Ukraine!
NH4Ukraine.org, a local nonprofit, is 4 months into their current 8 month trip providing humanitarian aid in the hardest-hit areas
Ukraine is back in the headlines once again, with the arrival of F-16s and their highly successful incursion into Russia’s Kursk region. However, during the time it had faded from the headlines, the need for food and hygiene products in the front line areas and the liberated villages never went away.
Bedford-based NH4Ukraine.org, founded in March 2022 by local residents, is currently on the ground in Ukraine, working hard to provide these areas with the assistance they need, as well as helping out in any other way they can (more about them at www.NH4Ukraine.org).
NH4Ukraine is funded entirely by donations from concerned people who step up to assist those in need. All personal and travel expenses are paid out of personal funds, ensuring that donations are used entirely to benefit the people affected by the war.

The large city of Kharkiv, despite being close to the Russian border and under regular missile attacks, is used as their base of operations due to its strategic access to front-line villages and availability of goods. Bedford resident Brian Nolen works with volunteers from Canada and western Europe to source and deliver non-perishable foods and hygiene products to the hardest-hit areas. Often the deliveries involve hours of driving on rough, potholed roads to get to these remote locations. Markets or stores in these villages were often destroyed during the fighting to liberate the area, so for now these people are dependent upon outside help to rebuild their lives.
NH4Ukraine also supports displaced children in refugee shelters, assists with logistics, relocates refugees, and performs various other humanitarian tasks.
