Bedford Historical Society Announces 50th Anniversary Sale

20% off sale

In honor of their 50th Anniversary the Historical Society is offering their unique publications and commemoratives to the public at a 20% reduction for the month of September. Among the selection available is The History of Bedford, NH 1737-1971. This very comprehensive book is a fabulous source of information about our town’s earliest days. For the anniversary sale we have bundled it with the genealogical supplements to the original text. Also available is Bedford, New Hampshire A Glimpse of the Past. Published in 2000 in honor of the Town’s 250th birthday by Neighborhood News the book is filled with great pictures from our past. We think it is a “must have” especially for our resident young people with inquiring minds!

In addition to our books the Society also has a collection of Hampshire Pewter ornaments, including three that are unique to Bedford: the 1939 Sanford Fire Truck, the Bedford Town Hall and John Goffe’s Mill. We also have a small supply of Bedford artist Jean Tallman’s numbered prints and maps, all suitable for framing. Another item in our inventory is the 1850 map of the Town of Bedford, drawn by B.F. Wallace. We believe this map was produced originally for the mail service as it includes every 1850 dwelling with the residents names! There is also a selection of iconic “Bedford” items including paperweights, pins, note cards and magnets.

These items may be purchased at the Society’s headquarters, Schoolhouse #7, located in the parking area of the Town Offices or on our website www.BedfordHistoricalNH.org. Schoolhouse #7 is open Wednesday mornings (10am-noon) or other times by appointment. If you would like to do a little shopping call (471-6336) or email (info@bedfordhistoricalnh.org) us and we’ll be happy to help you!
