Bedford Police Department Issues Scam Alert

The Bedford Police Department would like to alert residents about a phone scam discovered over the weekend.

A resident received calls from an individual claiming to be calling from the Bedford Police regarding tax fraud. Most concerning was the Bedford Police Department main number was one of the phone numbers that showed up on the resident’s caller ID.

The Bedford Police Department would like residents to use caution when receiving calls from those claiming to be from our department regarding tax debts.

When in doubt, please visit the “Contact Us” section of our website or call us to verify the caller is a town of Bedford Police Department employee. Do not release any funds or personally identifying information to ANY caller without significant evidence that the call is legitimate.
