Bedford Police Seek Citizen's Police Academy Applications

Classes begin on March 24; academy space is limited

The Bedford Police Department is accepting applications for the department’s 2015 Citizen’s Police Academy, according to a press statement.

The academy is “designed to provide the citizens of Bedford with a comprehensive perspective of the Department’s police services from the inside,” according to the statement.

The program will help residents understand “the art and science of policing in the 21st century and the challenges facing law enforcement officers.”

Participants will see nearly every aspect of the job of a police employee including patrol, investigations, and operations. The classes are open to anyone older than 18 who are also a resident. Police are asking anyone who would like to take the classes to make a commitment to attend at least eight of the 10 classes. Space is also limited.

Classes begin on March 24th and continue each Tuesday evening for 10-weeks from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Bedford Police Department Training Room, 55 Constitution Drive.

Applications must be submitted on or before March 13, and are available online at bedfordnh.org/pages/BedfordNH_Police/Index or at the Safety Complex and can be submitted via regular mail, E-mail to dispatch@bedfordnh.org or dropped off at the Station.
