BVI Says Goodbye to 2011 Without the Commotion

The Bedford Village Inn, this year, is offering guests a place to enjoy a finely prepared meal without all the hoopla this New Year’s Eve, and a relaxing setting to recover the next day.

Known for its three distinct dining options, the offers a special New Year’s Eve four-course prix fixe dinner in the Dining Room, and special a la carte menus in Tavern and Corks, with each menu representative of that dining area’s flair.

There won't be music, and you won't find special entertainment or children's prices. The BVI is simply offering an opportunity for a truly intimate evening to enjoy the true razzle dazzle of the its famed cuisine.

Executive Chef Benjamin Knack has developed the special prix fixe menu to be served in the Inn’s seven dining rooms, with seatings available from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

The three course spread includes menu options such as:

Tartlet of Duck Confit: Mushroom Cream, Roasted Mushrooms and Squash

BVI Lobster Bisque: Toasted Pistachio Cream & Lobster Oil

Arugula Salad: Boucheron Cheese with Red Onions, Candied Walnuts and Balsamic Vinaigrette

Mesclun Salad: Roasted Pears, Dried Apricots & Cranberries, Maple Pecans, Citrus Vinaigrette

Char Broiled Filet Mignon: Bone Marrow Whipped Potatoes, Bacon Tossed Brussels’ Sprouts, Port Wine Sauce

East Coast Cioppino: Red Snapper, Scallops, Shrimp, Mussels & Clams, and tomatoes braised in a fennel scented stew

The prix fixe dining room dinner is $75 per person, not including tax or gratuity. Reservations are required.

The next day, the BVI creates a “special recovery brunch menu” to ease the transition from celebration back to reality (beginning at 11 a.m.). Their Sunday Edition breakfast is still be available at 8 a.m., and sparkling wine, mimosas, Bloody Marys, and more to be offered by the glass.
