Bedford Village Inn Hosts Michael David Wine Dinner
BVI invites patrons to an evening of great food and fine wine.

The Bedford Village Inn’s own Executive Chef Benjamin Knack and Sommelier Jon Carnevale have worked together to design a perfectly paired four-course Michael David Wine Dinner featuring proprietor, Mike Phillips, hosted on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m.
The Phillips family has been farming the same 160 acres of land near the town of Lodi, Calif., since the end of the Civil War in the 1860′s. The region’s natural affinity for grape growing quickly became evident, and by 1900, 25 percent of California’s grape acreage was in Lodi. The Phillips’ farms evolved to include many different fruits, including 15 different wine varietals that were shipped throughout the country during Prohibition with instructions on “how not to have the grapes turn into wine,” allowing families everywhere to keep up the tradition of wine with meals by ordering these grapes and “juice” to be bottled at home.
Today, Michael and David Phillips represent fifth generation of growers in Lodi with 650 acres of premium wine grapes irrigated by the Mokelumne River. Michael David Winery’s hand-crafted wines range from lighter and stylish whites to over-the-top teeth staining reds.
