Bedford Woman Arrested for DWI in Merrimack
Police arrest Cynthia Clifford-Currie after receiving a tip from state police about a vehicle driving on a rim on the Everett Turnpike.

MERRIMACK, NH - A local woman was arrested last week for drunk driving after allegedly driving on the Everett Turnpike with no tread on one of her vehicle’s tires, according to police.
Cynthia Clifford-Currie, 58, of Beaver Lane in Bedford, was arrested on April 22, 2016, and charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated per se.

According to police, a trooper reportedly saw a red Honda driving on the northbound side of the Everett Turnpike at just before 5 p.m. “on its rim” near Exit 12.

Sgt. Foley of the Merrimack Police Department noted that an officer observed the vehicle on Bedford Road “driving erratically” and pulled the vehicle over.
“Upon making contact with the driver identified as Currie the officer detected a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath as well as signs of impairment,” Foley stated. “Following a brief investigation including field sobriety tests, she was arrested and transported to the Merrimack Police Department for processing.”
Clifford-Currie was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in court on May 5.
