Bedford's South River Road Closed
Breaking: Police expected to be at the scene until later tonight; seek alternate routes.

BEDFORD, NH — The Bedford Police Department is currently investigating a serious motor vehicle crash that injured three and left two with life-threatening injuries, according to an alert. Police, fire, and EMS responded to the area of 366 South River Road at 2:45 p.m. on July 29, 2016, for a reported motor vehicle crash.
"Upon arrival, first responders an expansive and very difficult scene," according to Chief John Bryfonski. "A preliminary investigation indicates that a sedan of indeterminate make or model, was proceeding at a high rate of speed when it struck a utility pole on South River Road. The vehicle then went airborne over a fence and landed in the front yard of a nearby home."
Three people were inside the vehicle. Two were ejected and sustained life-threatening injuries. The third passenger sustained serious injuries. All three were transported by ambulance to Eliot Hospital in Manchester.

South River Road is closed in the area and will remain closed until later Friday evening as police conduct an investigation and cleanup operations, according to the alert.
Motorists are advised to use Technology Drive as a detour.

The crash is under investigation by the Bedford Police Department. Anyone who may have seen the crash is urged to call officer Robert Lavoie or Sergeant Devon Kimball of the Bedford Police Department Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team at 603-472-5113.
