Below Zero Temps, More Snow Coming

Wintry mix will hit the Granite State on Saturday, Sunday.

The winter of 2015 continues to hit New Hampshire with extremely cold temperatures and yes, more snow, according to weather forecasters.

After an overnight storm that dropped anywhere from two to 11 inches of snow around the state, the National Weather Service and AccuWeather.com are warning that there are bitter cold temperatures and more snow on the horizon.

Forecasters are calling for a bit of snow this afternoon with overnight lows dropping down into the teens. But with wind gusts as high as 25 mph in places, it will feel as if it is as low as 15 degrees below zero.

On Friday, expect similar weather, with highs in the teens and wind gusts making it feel anywhere between 10 and 15 degrees below zero. Overnight lows will drop down into the single digits and negative single digits.

The wind will lighten up a bit on Saturday and it’s also expected to be sunny, too, but by late afternoon and early evening, more snow is expected, with a wintry mix of snow and possibly freezing rain continuing into Sunday, according to AccuWeather.com.

Exact snow totals are not known just yet but estimates of as much as six inches are being reported. However, it’s the wintry mix that is of most concern to forecasters. The storm is expected to make the roads very slippery and will heighten already worrisome roof collapse and structural problems on buildings across the state.
