  1. It's the perfect time for pumpkins! From pumpkin spice lattes to pumpkin pies and jack-o’-lanterns on stoops and doorsteps. If you are looking to pick up a pumpkin in Bedford, here are a few of the best nearby pumpkin patches: The Educational Farm at Joppa Hill had a great crop of pumpkins this year. You can also visit the pumpkin patch at Devriendt Farm Stand & Nursery in Goffstown. And don't forget Charming Fare Farm in Candia. 2. A shout out to Dr. Magnarelli, the Chief Medical Officer of the Animal Rescue League of N.H. She has already helped raise over $2,000 on her Howl-O-Ween 5k on her Facebook page to benefit the shelter animals in their care. To help even more with greatly needed funds for the shelter, Dr. Magnarelli has a goal to receive $5K in donations before the run/walk fundraising event next week. If she reaches her goal for the shelter, she and her husband will let their 17-month-old daughter, little Miss Madelyn, give a donkey a home at their farm. You can help by donating here. 3. A Massachusetts company has made a $160M bet investing in properties across Southern New Hampshire. Among other investments, the R.J. Kelly Company purchased the former Walmart on Colby Court in Bedford for $8.1 million in May 2021. They recently sold the property for $13.5 million to Wire Belt Company of America hat outgrew its space in Londonderry. Brandon Kelly, president and CEO of R.J. Kelly Co. Inc., said. “If you look around in southern New Hampshire, if you look around in northern Massachusetts, you would not find a building like that.” (Subscription/The Union Leader)
