Boston Shooting Suspect Arrested in NH

Police: Jalen Morris of Roxbury was picked up on Friday night after a collaborative effort by two police departments.

MANCHESTER, NH — A collaborative effort by police forces from two states led to the arrest of a shooting suspect in the Queen City on Friday morning, according to police. Jalen Morris, 22, of Roxbury, MA, was arrested on March 3, 2017, on a fugitive from justice charge.

According to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department, the city’s Special Enforcement Division, while working with Boston Police, tracked down Morris around Log Street.

“Boston Police received information that Morris was staying in the Queen City after his alleged involvement in a Boston shooting,” O’Keefe stated in a press release.

The vehicle – which driven by a Manchester woman who was not charged and released from the scene after Morris was taken into custody – was stopped on Hevey Street a short time later. After Morris was identified, he was arrested. Morris is due in court this morning.

Information about the shooting incident was not available by Manchester Police or online at post time. According to the Boston Police, Morris was arrested on the afternoon of Jan. 30, 2017, on a possession of drugs with intent to manufacture, distribute, and dispense charge. He was arrested on Wait Street in the city's Mission Hill neighborhood.
