Photography Time in New England!

Fall is here, get out and explore and enjoy this fabulous season...and don't forget your camera.

Welcome to Fall in New England...crisp and cool nights and vibrant sunny days. I love to capture the beauty of this season...waiting for the leaves to turn and be at the height of color.  There are maps you can check to see where your area is in the color change time line.  Here is a good one: http://www.yankeefoliage.com/live-fall-foliage-map/  You can see we are mostly "just turning" here in New England now.

I was lucky to travel north to visit my stepson at his college in Vermont this past weekend.  I was so excited, had my camera and lenses packed ready to go!  It was a bit of a let down that it wasn't as far along as I might have liked, but I still captured some awesome fall scenes of covered bridges and my girls in a leaf catching contest.  And, with a little editing help, we can make the leaves a little brighter than they actually were.

I hope you are inspired this fall to take some time from raking to get out and play. Pick up your camera, or even use your phone to capture the feeling of fall.  I may even have a fall Photography contest among hobbyists on my facebook page if there is enough interest.

A tip for fall photography is keep it simple.  Unless of course, you are atop a mountain and can get a grand landscape.  People tend to want to get everything in a photo.  Take two or three, crop and edit them.  Less is more.  I will be posting other ideas for improving photography in the future.  If you have any questions or want a specific topic in photography covered, please contact me.

In Bedford, there are some great spots to get good photos.  One of my favorites is Benedictine Park.  Walk to to the top and take in all of the scenery.  I love to take clients there and am doing so later this week.
