Andy Martin, Barack Obama’s original critic and America’s leading independent conservative author/investigator, will hold a series of news conferences, events and symposia in Washington, DC March 28-30: (1) announcing a “fighting camp” to oppose Penny Pritzker as Secretary of Commerce; (2) reprising President Ronald Reagan’s dramatic Berlin speech with an updated 2013 demand: “Mr. Obama, tear down this wall! [around the White House, closing the Peoples’ House to tours];” (3) discussing the impact of the Iraq War on the Republican Party; (4) questioning whether it is time to impose bipartisan limits on President Obama misuse of federal funds for “family” vacations and (5) demanding that President Obama stop his plan to deprive the CIA of independent drone capability
Andy, a Middle East expert and early opponent of the Iraq invasion, will begin a “national security weekend” by conducting a symposium Friday evening on the calamity of the Iraq War and holding a news conference Saturday to demand that Obama allow the CIA to continue to drone operations. “When Congress stands down, for a vacation,” Andy says, “We stand up to continue the battle against the evil emperor who has locked shut the doors of the White House and violated Jesus’ mandate to ‘suffer the little children to come unto Me.’”

A "national security weekend" will open Friday evening with a discussion of the impact the Iraq war has had on the Republican Party.
Saturday morning Andy will demand that President Obama not endanger national security by removing CIA drones from the agency’s control

Andy announced recently in Chicago he would lead opposition to the nomination/confirmation of Penny Pritzker as U. S. Secretary of Commerce. Thursday he announces he’s hunkering down for a battle against Pritzker by setting up a “fighting camp” to oppose Pritzker’s nomination.

The Imperial Presidency
When Democrats are in power, Republicans complain about excess presidential spending and excess vacationing by the president. When Republicans are in power, Democrats do the same. Andy will discuss whether the time has come for Congress to adopt a White House budget and to specify what are and are not allowable expenses for the president. (For example, Andy personally favors limiting Michele Obama’s spending; no one elected her.)

Friday afternoon, after attending Good Friday services, Andy will walk over to the White House fence and reprise President Reagan’s "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall” moment by demanding that “Mr. Obama, tear down this wall” and reopen the White House to tours. “The closure of the White House while the Obama family spends millions of taxpayer dollars on endless vacations and self-indulgence is a disgrace,” Andy charges.

Will the Republican Party recover from the Iraq War?
Based on his Middle East expertise, Andy was an early opponent of the plan to invade Iraq. He lived in Baghdad for part of 2003. He is working on a novel about his year there. And he opens the floor for reaction and discussion of remarks by recent columnists (please see Group Link #1 below) that President Bush’s invasion of Iraq did incalculable damage to the Republican Party. Andy predicted that damage in 2006 and warned Republicans – but the Party had to be defeated before leaders would realize they were out of step with the American people.

Is Obama trying to destroy the CIA by removing drones?
Andy accuses President Obama of trying to undermine and weaken the CIA by removing an in-house drone program from the CIA. Andy suggests that the Obama plan will endanger national security by depriving the CIA of modern technology (please see Group link #2 below). “The CIA is not a law enforcement agency,” Andy says. “The CIA is not a military force. It is a clandestine service that must have available and accessible all of the technology of modern intelligence, including armed and unarmed drones. That has been the lesson going back to the OSS. President Obama’s plan should be rejected by Congress.”
Andy’s familiarity with the CIA is based on over forty years of experience in Asia, Southwest Asia and the Middle East; he is regarded overseas as one of America’s most respected independent foreign policy, military and intelligence analysts. He was in Iran and Afghanistan during the hostage crisis in 1979-80, and has regularly returned to Southwest Asia since then. He lived in Iraq in 2003. His analysis of the terrorist threat in Iran during 1979-80, and again in Iraq in 2003, were leading-edge predictions of what Americans faced in the future. Andy first went to Asia in 1967 and has lived in or been in Israel, Jordan, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Viet-Nam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Burma, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
