This May, in conjunction with National Cancer Research Month, 59-year-old Darryl Jelley of Bedford, NH, will set out on his first ever long-distance solo fundraising ride, a courageous, 2,000-mile cycling journey from York, ME to Ket West, FL requiring an average of 80 miles per day for nearly one month. This monumental undertaking will kick-off May 8th at 9am from Mt. Agamenticus and be chronicled daily on social media to allow supporters to follow him along the way.
After tragically and suddenly losing his wife and the mother of his two young daughters to pancreatic cancer in 2018 just 28 days after diagnosis, my brother has dedicated his time and energy to raising awareness and research funding for Dana Farber Cancer Institute…one pedal stroke at a time. Each year, he participates in organized group cycling rides to help fund critical research aimed at advancing cutting-edge technologies for early detection and treatment of this complex, deadly disease. This year, he will amp up his efforts by adding this solo ride.
