Autumn is always the season at Moose Hill Orchards, better known as Mack's Apples, the beloved fruit-and-fun institution in Londonderry. But this year, there's something extra to go with the apples, pumpkins, and stumping politicians.

After more than 200 years, the sprawling white farmhouse next to the familiar farm stand on Mammoth Road, continuously owned by the Mack Family since it was built, has been sold. And now the house's contents, artifacts spanning nearly three centuries, will be offered in an online auction currently in progress and ending beginning at 7 p.m. on September 10.

In addition to a wide range of primitives and utilitarian objects, the auction includes country and "fancy" furniture; folk art; decorative items; early
advertising; pottery and glass; coins and medals; antique and vintage
clothing; ephemera; historical items; weapons; and militaria spanning
from the Revolutionary War through World War II, including a group of
uniforms and equipment owned by Rear Admiral A. R. Mack, awarded the
Silver Star by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1943. All items are offered with no minimum bids and no reserves.
