Carvalho: In Support of Denise Ricciardi for NH Senate District 9
Ron Carvalho is a Bedford Resident and USN (RET)

Like many of you I’m sick and tired of the constant barrage of political hit pieces crowding my inbox and Face Book page. It’s particularly galling to see pieces that bear little resemblance to the truth, especially those attacking someone I know very well, Senator Denise Ricciardi.
I’ve known Denise for just over a decade, she’s a fiscal minded pragmatist who represents all her constituents regardless of political party. Denise’s entire work history has been centered around serving others, from her early days running a business supporting Seniors, to delivering meals to new mothers in Bedford. She’s tenacious in her pursuit of those causes she supports, and her success as a legislative leader has been recognized many times over. Denise has repeatedly emphasized with me her unwavering philosophy of doing the right thing for all of those she represents. She’s tireless and travels to all her towns to address key issues regularly. Despite claims to the contrary in recent attack adds, Denise has been effective in lowering our taxes through her sponsorship of Senate Bill 99 ensuring Meals and Rental Revenue Sharing went back to the towns in NH. Denise is a supporter of keeping our environment clean with her support of clean water safeguards. Denise has been an outstanding sponsor of the Bedford Historical Society and Stevens Buswell Center, helping us secure funding through gaming charities to keep the organizations running smoothly. She’s also an advocate for Educational Freedom Accounts ensuring all parents can place their children in school systems that fit their needs best.
As a retired Naval Officer and aviator, I’ve read Denise’s opponent’s proposed solution to rising Real Estate Taxes. Quite frankly raising taxes on small businesses or pursuing a statewide sales tax does nothing to control costs, it just shifts which pocket I’m paying taxes out of. The Voodoo economic policies of what constitutes “Fair Share” always seems to go without mention. We’ve seen where this fiscal policy leads to in the disastrous budgets of those states surrounding us. If I wanted to pay high taxes without fiscal oversight I’d move south, west or north. I live in NH for a reason, good schools, sound financial discipline, and leaders like Denise who protect the New Hampshire advantage. Fortunately, there are other common-sense leaders on the ballot who share these beliefs, Pete Kujkawski and John Schneller being examples.

I strongly support Denise in continuing her role as our District 9 Senator, I urge you to do the same.
Respectfully, CDR Ronald M. Carvalho Jr, USN (RET)
