Chagnon: Let Your Voice Be Heard, Regardless of the Noise

Maybe it's time for politicians to be told to sit in on anti-bullying classes.

With a grandchild in fifth grade who is trying to pay attention to what is going on around her, the notes being taken are worth sharing.

Driving down the road, the questions come from the back seat about who is this candidate, who is that one. Then came the note-worthy comment, “If I were going to run for office I wouldn’t say what the other person did wrong, I’d say what I am going to do right.”

We teach our kids against bullying, yet if you watch the signs and hear much of the political advertising; it makes you wonder if perhaps some of our adult peers need to sit in on these classes.

Keep in mind that our actions are being watched and heard by the next generation. Let your voices be heard on Nov. 4. In Bedford, get out and vote at the High School from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is not my place to suggest who you vote for as that is a most personal choice. However, I hope that you will let your voice be heard. Reach out to your candidates with your questions and comments. Many in our world don’t have this privilege. I encourage you to not take it for granted.
