Citizens Rescue Overdose Victims from Burning Volvo
Bedford Rescue teams also lend a hand at Manchester incident.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 29, Manchester Fire and Rescue teams received multiple 911 calls from people in the area of 377 South Willow St. for a car fire with two unconscious people in the vehicle.
MFD Engine 7 and a AMR ambulance responded.
Upon arrival they found two victims who had been removed from the burning vehicle by civilians and CPR was being performed on both while other civilians used extinguishers from nearby stores to extinguish the car fire.

First responders arrived on the scene and began CPR and based on what they found, administered Narcan to both the victims which eventually brought both to consciousness.
MFD Engine 9 was called for manpower, an additional AMR ambulance and one ambulance from Bedford for mutual aid. The Bedford ambulance treated one of the civilians for smoke inhalation at the scene.

Two AMR ambulances transported the people who were overdosing from the scene and they were semi-responsive. MPD arrived on scene approximately 15 minutes after the incident and began an investigation.
