Coalition for Bedford Youth at Stand By Me Event

Learn about out wonderful teens at CBY

On May 18, 2018, six teens from the Coalition for Bedford Youth (CBY) held workshops at the Ross Lurgio Stand By Me one-day workshop event. Stand By Me’s mission is to provide teenagers and their parents with the opportunity and skills for improvement of understanding and communication, thereby enhancing trust and self-esteem. This mission is accomplished through a variety of interactive workshops held at Southern New Hampshire University. The CBY presenters (Noah Bartram, Autumn McIntyre, Noel Desmarais, Izzy O'Brien, Zach Letendre, and Alex Finnegan) hosted three sessions of “FUNdamentals of CBY” aimed at 7th graders and adults, and explained the goals and mission of CBY. Through fun and interesting hands-on activities, the presenters introduced the attendees to the 40 Developmental Assets, a cornerstone of the group’s mission “to provide youth driven, fun opportunities for growth.” Early feedback from the workshop attendees and the buzz around the Stand By Me event was that the CBY presentation was a huge success and great fun was had by all involved!

Learn how CBY youth have fun volunteering within the community and developing leadership skills in the process! CBY youth usually meet once every two weeks on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Ross Lurgio Media Center.
