Update: Convict Missing from NH Transitional Housing Unit in Custody

Breaking: Christopher Plaisted-Comeau reportedly didn't show up for work and was placed on walkaway status on March 5, has been arrested.

MANCHESTER, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections that was looking for a work release inmate that allegedly didn’t show up for work and was placed on walkaway status on March 5, 2017, has been captured. Christopher W. Plaisted-Comeau, 25, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. on March 13, by Manchester Police, according to Jeffrey Lyons, the public information officer for the NH DOC.

Plaisted-Comeau, formerly of Plymouth, was returned to the New Hampshire State Prison last night. HE was convicted of reckless conduct in Grafton County Superior Court.

There are no other details available about the arrest at this time.

Plaisted-Comeau reportedly left the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester at just after 10:30 a.m. this morning to go to work at his Manchester job. He was due to return at 11 p.m. tonight. His employer, however, told officials that he allegedly never showed up for work. Plaisted-Comeau was placed on walkaway status at around 1:30 p.m., Lyons noted.

Plaisted-Comeau was sentenced to two to four years in state prison in 2014. He was eligible for parole last December but it had not been approved, Lyons noted. He maximum release date was February 2019. When caught, he could be charged with felony escape which is punishable by 3.5 to seven years in prison.

Previously, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader, he was indicted for escape in 2013.
