Convicted Armed Robber, Out On Work Release, Caught
Update: Tyler Best left the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester to go to work but then allegedly left work without permission

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help finding a work release resident who allegedly is missing, according to an alert. Tyler Best, 39, left the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester to go to his job at around 1 p.m. on Feb. 20, 2018. After he arrived at work, he allegedly left the site, without permission, according to Jeffrey Lyons, a public information officer for the NH DOC.

Best is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, around 170 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his left and right forearms, left and right upper arms, right breast, and on his back.
Bet was sentenced in Belknap County Superior Court to 1.5- to 5-years in prison for armed robbery, with 188 days of time served. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison for Men in January 2017 and was eligible for parole last month. His maximum release date is June 27, 2021.

“The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating,” Lyons added. “Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call their local law enforcement agency or the New Hampshire State Police.”
Walking away from a correctional facility can result in a charge of escape, which is a Class-B felony, punishable by up to 3.5- to 7-years in prison.
