COVID-19 And Bedford Cares
Bedford Town Councilor Denise Ricciardi has created a help system for those who are isolated at home.

Town Councilor and community leader Denise Ricciardi wanted to take action under the current COVID-19 crisis.
The concept began in conversations with Chief Bryfonski of the Bedford PD and Chief Scott Hunter of the Bedford FD when concerns arose about how to keep our first responders well and on duty.
In order to bring our community together in a time of crisis, she formed Bedford Cares. Bedford Cares will try to link volunteers with those who are confined to their homes but still need services such as food or medicine deliveries, mail pickups, or assistance with other non-emergency needs.

In just a few days Bedford Cares has recruited almost 100 volunteers which speaks volumes to the kind of community that we live in. The concept has grown to assisting the food pantry.
Members of our community are dropping food and other items at 29 Magazine St.

The items most needed are:
Canned Beans
Canned Fruits
Canned Mushrooms
Canned Tuna or Chicken
Canned Soups
Canned Vegetables
Cereal
Dried Beans, Peas
Graham Crackers
Granola Bars
Pasta (all kinds)
Pasta Sauces (all kinds, cans and jars)
Peanut Butter
Bedford Cares has now expanded to reach out and help Meals on Wheels. They are also in need of the above food supplies, and in addition, adult diapers.
Once a full truckload is gathered, the items will be delivered to the recipients.
We also have asked for supplies of hand sanitizer for our first responders which can also be dropped off at the same address. In order to dispense the sanitizer, personal-sized flip-cap or pumper bottles are needed as well.
Grass does not grow under Denise Ricciardi’s feet. She takes action!
