On Saturday August 27 several members of the Friends of the Stevens-Buswell Society along with the Co-Presidents of the Bedford Women’s Club, Genevieve Miller and Kathleen McMillan were present at the Stevens-Buswell building for the official “opening” of the beautiful new handrails at the front entrance. The wrought iron handrails were designed and crafted by Stevens-Buswell alumnus Tom Manning and funds for the project were donated by the Bedford Women’s Club. Together at the presentation were Tom Manning, Margaret Wiggin, President of the Bedford Historical Society, Victoria Wisner, co-Chair of the Stevens-Buswell Community Center Committee, and members Beverly Thomas, and Gwen Broder.
