Double Shooting Reported In Manchester, 1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized
Update: Manchester police confirm 2 people were shot in the Queen City's North End neighborhood but there is no danger to the public.
MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police responded to the area of Union Street and North Acres Road around 11:45 p.m. Saturday for a report of a gunshot. At the same Manchester firefighters and AMR ambulance were dispatched to the area for a possible victim with a wound. Within 10 minutes arriving, a second ambulance was requested for a possible second person suffering from a gunshot wound as well.
Manchester Police Sgt. Peter Marr said Sunday officers confirmed that shots were fired and two people suffered injuries.
“At this time there is no reason to believe that the public is in any danger, and all those involved in the incident have been identified and accounted for,” Marr said.

Multiple people in the quiet, upscale North End neighborhood confirmed a body was removed from a home by authorities. The age or gender of the person removed by a local funeral home is unknown at post time.
Updated information from police is that one male was deceased at the scene and an autopsy will be completed by the NH Medical Examiners Office to determine the cause and the manner of death. The second victim was taken to the hospital and is still alive.

The department's Crime Scene processing unit was on scene in front of the area where it appears the incident occurred and Union Street was closed between North Acres Road and Crestview Road. After the crime scene van was removed, the street reopened to traffic and one officer remained in front of the house where it appears the incident occurred.
A bio-hazard clean up company who the city contracts with to clean up incidents with blood arrived on the scene. A worker for the company in a Tyvek suit, gloves, and a protective mask cleaned what appeared to be a large amount of blood from the driveway near the garage door, and a car sitting in the driveway. The blood continued into Union Street near the granite curb in front of the house.
Past situations similar to this usually are handled by the NH Attorney Generals Office in conjunction with the local authorities. At this time, the NH AG has not issued any comment or press release.
Editor's note: An earlier version of this report stated that the second person shot had died at the hospital. That information was not correct. Sources also stated the double shooting was being investigated as a murder-suicide. We cannot confirm the accuracy of that information at this time.
