Elderly NH Man with Alzheimer’s Found at Mass. Hospital

Update: Joseph Grant was reported missing yesterday afternoon from Manchester after he took a bus into Boston. He was found today.

Update, 1:50 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2016: Police are reporting that Grant has been found in a Massachusetts hospital.

MANCHESTER, NH — New Hampshire police are asking for the public’s help in finding an elderly man with Alzheimer’s who was reported missing yesterday afternoon, according to police. Joseph Grant, 81, reportedly wandered off in the area of Central and Union streets in the Queen City at around 5 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2016, while he was visiting family, according to his wife.

Dispatchers learned last night that Grant may have taken a bus to Boston’s South Station at around 5:10 p.m. (with an arrival time of 7:35 p.m.).

“His wife thinks he maybe going to the Brockton, MA, area,” according to Sgt. Richard Brennan of the Manchester Police Department. “Dispatch has notified Boston, MA PD and other local police agencies of this information.”

Grant is described as white, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and walks with a cane. He was last wearing beige corduroy pants, a brown leather jacket, and Korean War baseball cap.
