Police, according to a press alert, were sent to Queen City Paint on Lake Avenue for a report of a stolen motor vehicle at around 9:30 a.m. this morning. The victim reportedly told police that he went into the business and left his Chevrolet Malibu running outside when it was stolen from the business.

The first officer responding to the business, while driving there from Candia Road, spotted the stolen vehicle as it passed by him on Lake Shore Road, according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department.

“He activated his emergency lights to stop the motor vehicle, which was confirmed stolen based on the registration number (the victim) provided to dispatch,” O’Keefe alleged. “The lone operator failed to stop and continued eastbound into Auburn. The officer pursued the vehicle into Auburn. The suspect ultimately stopped the vehicle on Dearborn Road (Auburn) when he got stuck behind a parked dump truck.”

Auburn Police were also on the scene and assisted in arresting the driver, later identified as Holland, who eventually complied with the arrest, O'Keefe noted. The officer also allegedly found a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle, so a possession charge was added to the docket. After arriving at Manchester Police headquarters, it was confirmed that Holland was the same man put on escape status last night.

Holland is due in court tomorrow.

The victim was given a courtesy ride to Auburn to pick up his vehicle and he was also given a warning for unattended motor vehicle.
