EV Vehicle Crashes Into Bedford Toll Plaza, Bursting Into Flames
A driver was pulled from the vehicle Tuesday by a New Hampshire State Police trooper assigned to the security detail of Gov. Kelly Ayotte.
BEDFORD, NH — A vehicle traveling northbound on the F.E. Everett Turnpike crashed into the Bedford Toll Plaza on Tuesday, just before noon.
A New Hampshire State Police trooper, on security detail with Gov. Kelly Ayotte, was one of the first to arrive, and immediately worked to get the driver out of the car. Several people at the toll plaza used fire extinguishers to try to put out the intense fire.
The vehicle a Lucid EV Vehicle was fully engulfed as the driver was pulled from the vehicle, they were provided medical aid and rushed to the Elliot Hospital where there condition is unknown at this time.

Bedford firefighters used water and foam, and quickly called for mutual aid from neighboring towns for a water supply.
A special blanket designed for EV fires by the company Fire Blanket was used to smother the fire, and firefighters continued applying foam to the vehicle.

Northbound lanes were closed and traffic was exited off Exit 13, traffic was backed up for miles initially as responders were getting to the scene.
The accident is under investigation by state police, and it is believed there was only one occupant in the car.
