Tree Limb Trim Causes 1,000 Customers to Lose Power

Power outages were reported earlier today in Amherst, Bedford, and Merrimack.

12:18 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2015 update: The power outage was caused by a tree limb falling on a wire during trimming, according to a note on Eversource’s Twitter account. Power has now been restored to the area.

Eversource is reporting about 1,000 customers without power at this hour in Amherst, Bedford, Manchester, and Merrimack, according to the company’s outage map.

It’s unknown at post time exactly why the power is out but it went out around 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 29, 2015.

More than 700 customers are without power in Amherst. Another 300-plus are without power in Merrimack. About 60 customers in Bedford and Manchester are without power.

The estimated time of restoration is about 1:15 p.m., according to the company.
